1 Day
Our trip will start in the morning (08:00 or 09:00). We will have short excursion at Ananuri . Then around noon lunch is available en route in local restaurant. After lunch we will pass through ski resort Gudauri, drive over the most picturesque Jvari Pass or " Cross Pass" (2379 m) to the town of Kazbegi (1700 m) - center of Khevi province.
If we are lucky with weather we will see Mount Kazbek, soaring to height of 5047 m. Its white, pristine beauty wrapped in the rays of the sun almost fills the sky. Grand and dignified, it is at times capricious, even savage. Natives of Khevi often call this giant volcano looming over their homes "The Bride of Khevi ". Mount Kazbek is the third highest and one of the best known peaks in the Caucasus. Georgian historians refer to "one Ioseb from Khevi ", who during the reign of King Erekle II (17th - 18th cc) scaled Mkinvartsveri.
